A New Standard

It is good to have a new standard of feelings.

Then, when an old one comes in, we can measure it against the new one.

Since it does not measure up, there really is no place for it in our new standard.

Only happy feelings, things which contribute to our well-being are allowed to have residence.

Old memories, old experiences, none of that is relevant to today’s new standard.

Only the present counts.

Building a new tradition for ourselves takes a lot of work.

We have to evaluate what, exactly, we want.

We try things out, and become very careful with what we allow.

When we find something that is acceptable all of the time, it can become part of our life.

It must support us, make us feel loved, cherished, adored, or it simply has no place in our life.
