Courage

We went sent to nurture each other so that none can make us afraid.

By understanding and having compassion on another, we are all lifted up.

Even the perpetrator of cruelty, having no where and no one upon whom to practice his or her cruelty, is lifted up.

There is no receptor.

It takes courage to reject the past feeling of cruelty, triggered as it is by some present reminder.

But, when we stand up to it, and reject it, not only does it have no more power over us, it takes away some of its power over its perpetrator.

There is a deep desire to be free in each of us.

Those who spread cruelty, are not only not free of it themselves, it has overrun them.

So, although our courage starts with the idea of freeing ourselves, it actually has a much larger impact.
